Before I even thought about getting a tarantula in 2014, I thought about getting a ball python, I don't know why I never did, but now I am seriously looking into finally getting one or three. I am obsessed with pieds and blue eyed leucistics. Does any one have any advice on raising b as ll pythons besides the fact that I hear they can be picky eaters?

Hi Panzo, ballpythons a amazing snakes, just like Tís they are addicting! I started with Tís like yourself but ball pythons have become my main collection.

I find if you keep their enclosure properly they will eat just fine. I use rack systems from ars. I keep my room around 78-80 degrees for the ambient and our hot spot is set at 88-90 degrees. We keep our humidity around 60% with a humidifier. You can use repti-chip as a substrate and that will help with humidity as well. I use butcher paper for my substrate. We clean the tub when they make a mess. We feed every Sunday unless they are in shed, we keep fresh water in at all times.

This guy was the reason I started breeding ball pythons. When I got into bpís a bel was $1000 now they are much more affordable!

Great information. I am also looking into corn snakes, but I am struggling to find reputable online sellers.

Corn snakes are great animals as well. Check morph market out and look up boiís before you buy. Good luck finding your new scaly friend.
