      TCool Caribena versicolor Fan Club!

Hey Peeps, Well, those of you who know me, chat, etc. have heard of my 'horror stories' of my tiny little versicolor sling running away.... only run to run BACK 2 days later!
The funniest thing? Out of all my T's, which one gets my heart racing, and I get near a panic state? NOT my A. brocklehursti, or my 6" LP, not even mean little Brawny (3" LP)...
Nope, it's my tiny little versi, Dini that I am TERRIFIED to handle! LOL! She's a real angel, just fast..a and just has GOTTA keep movin'!

To which, I present Exhibit A: 'Attempt to take a pic of a running versi'

So much for Olympus' 'anti-shake' technology!

LOL, funny, I make versi's out to be little , but they are extremely gentle, and Few people can argue about thier beauty! I guess my only issue with my little one, is that she NEVER slows down...
*shhh! for nearly 30 seconds today , she was sitting still on my thumbnail.... I slowly pick up my camera....aim, start to press the shutter release... then *VROOOOOOMMMMM!*... Dini ended up on my left elbow, or something... LOL!

So, I'll up a better pic of my girl later, meanwhile.. let's hear about and see (!!) everyone's versi's! And it's odd, a ? to all other versi keepers. I HAD heard that versi's are the hardest avic. slings to care for.... I am truly a NOOB with arboreals, yet I got 3 free from Tappy (My versi, and a P. irminia and cambredgei sling). Beyond her activity level and speed.... I really have had no issues with raising her....she won't ever let me see her eat tho.... I gave her 'roach cutlets' 2 days before her molt!
Her molt 2 nights ago, was a good sign, anyway...

So, let's spread the versicolor love! SO FUNNY, I can remember talking to JSI in chat, (YEARS ago) saying, I could NEVER be able to care for an arboreal T... LOL!

Famous last words: I never intended to get into arboreals... (I also post in the tarantuholic thread...) But, I have four little A. versi.
I should say 'we', two are technically my youngest daughter's and one is technically my next oldest daughter's, with only one technically being mine.
Ole mom just takes care of them all. LOL
Anyway, Amadeus, Charlotte and Chipara came home with us as door prizes from the ATS Conference this summer. Barbell was a disabled freebie looking for someone (enter daughter...) to see him through a couple molts and leg regenerations and was part of the 'package deal'. (There are enablers everywhere I go... not that I would mention any names, Patrick, if you're reading here...) :-) Barbell was the first T my daughter ever held. Patrick plopped him into daughter's hand and said, "Look, it likes you, and you're very good at handling Ts. It just needs some TLC." Daughter's temporary T infatuation lasted as long as it took us to drive the 3000 miles home...

My first thought was, "Avics?!?", then, "versicolor"?!? "OMG! Aren't those the pretty blue arboreals that everyone has trouble getting through slinghood?" "What am I supposed to do with these?!?"
Well, I/we took them home, I obsessed over them, I fed them, I humidified them, I obsessed, I cleaned the poop off their walls, I rehoused them, I've seen them through three molts, I obsessed... They're not adults yet, but I haven't killed any of them to date. :-) They seem to be doing pretty well in their little arboreal homes that I learned to make, and Barbell has the appropriate number of legs now.

Silhouettes turn out better than trying to take pics through webbing...

One of them stretching after a molt

'Toddler' container. I already have the next size ready for them when they outgrow these.

I can see why this is one of the most coveted species out there! And this is the one species I am NOT in a hurry for it to grow up, even though adults are gorgeous too!
