      A. hirschii, minatrix and an unnamed/undescribed species to be moved to a still to be named Genus.
      A. sooretama, diversipes & gamba to be moved to a still to be named Genus.

Avicularia would consist of the following 14 species:
Avicularia avicularia, juruensis, purpurea, taunayi, variegata, velutina, rufa, aymara & 6 new(?) unnamed/undescribed species.

Avicularia parva is now Catumiri parvum
Avicularia anthracina is now Grammostola anthracina
Avicularia affinis is now Euathlus affinis

The following no longer would be valid names:
Avicularia geroldi, holmbergi, metallica, ulrichea, walckenaeri, exilis, fasciculata, fasiculata clara, soratae, subvulpina, surinamensis, rapax, ochracea, doleschalli, detrita, tigrina, alticeps & hirsuta.

      Names still to be queried:
Avicularia arabica, ancylochira, cuminami, glauca, gracilis, leporina, nigrotaeniata & plantaris.

The full work will be published in June 2013.

Can I bump this thread, to ask if this work was ever published - in June 2013, or ever yet?
Any more recent information/revisions on this, or any updates on when it will be published if it hasn't been?

      Thanks!

It appears that the revision has a new release date listed as 2015-06-09. This is a very difficult and ambitious task to take on and do properly so I wouldn't be surprised to see more delays.
To put it into perspective, Volker von Wirth and Boris Striffler have been working on a revision of the Ornithoctoninae for years. There was talk from Volker himself on the tarantula store forum of results being released within the next year. That was in November 08 and, as far as I'm aware, still nothing. These things take time to do properly.

A couple of Avicularia papers that have been published since the announcement of the revision -

      Bertani, R. & J. Huff, 2013. Avicularia rickwesti sp.nov, a remarkable new species of Avicularia (Theraphosidae:Aviculariinae) from Dominican Republic. Zoologia 30(3): 333-337.

Bertani, R. & P.C. Motta. 2013. Redescription of Avicularia taunayi and notes on its habitat and geographical distribution (Araneae: Theraphosidae: Aviculariinae). Zoologia (Curitiba) [online]. 30(1): 107-114.

There's so many papers and specimens scattered all over the world in museums and collections, it's very time consuming to do a revision of a genus, let alone subfamily. I admire their dedication. It's a far more daunting task than I would ever attempt.
