Well, it's likely not the RECOMMENDED method for transferring a P. irminia, but it got the job done:

      1. Make sure your spider is indeed in the old enclosure.

      2. Pick up dirt curtain with tongs. Expect spider to come out. Be disappointed. Place entire dirt curtain in new enclosure.

      3. Locate spider in dirt curtain. Again.

      4. Convince spider it really doesn't need that old dirt curtain. These are it's new digs. Much better, and who doesn't like getting to redecorate?

      5. Take the first good photos you've gotten of spider in a month.

And totally unrelated to spiders, me and Pinkie:

Your rat is totally cute! And I'm so glad to know that "dirt curtian" is a technical term since I use it all the time, but not to be confused with the term "dirt carpet"

Pinkie is even more adorable in person. She's the fifth rat I've had, and she is the sweetest and most social one.

Dirt curtain is just such an appropriate term! lol

Thanks, JSI. Pinkie says thanks as well.

      Dirt curtain. I like.

Your irminia looks premolt there. Bulging Chelicerae and darkening patter on rump. Let me know when she molts, but I would guess within the next week.

I think so too. She hasn't ate in awhile, and I've offered crickets, worms, and roaches. Totally not interested in any.

Some of Ethel, because she was the only one that wanted to cooperate for pictures. Odd, considering she hates me (she didn't get that "Don't try to bite the hand that feeds you" memo).
