      Jungle/Diamond Carpet Python

Had this little guy surrendered last night. Got a few pictures of him before I got him all set up in an enclosure.

      Very nice.

I saw the discussion in chat the other night about these being bitey, and like you, I am not scared of getting bit by a snake (unless it is venomous, or large). But my question is, do bitey snakes calm down with handling like so many other pets?

I have caught me a number of bitey snakes, but don't remember them calming down. I remember one very bitey grey rat snake that never did calm down...

Some do. I've had a few that weren't handled much before I got them that calmed down just fine with regular handling. Some species are just known for being bitey no matter how much they are handled but there is always an exception here and there.

Babies tend to be more bitey than adults as well. They are small and always feel vulnerable. I've had some that tamed out once they gained some size.

My old rat snake is still a bitey pain in the where ever she bites you.
she has over the years calmed down with me but if someone walks in she starts biting and that is most often me.

Some new pics. He's shed 3 times since I got him. He seriously gets brighter every shed.
