      Question Using empty food containers?

Can I use empty food containers if I rinse them in hot water? I have a ton of those plastic gerber baby food containers and apple sauce containers lol

I think most everyone uses recycled containers once in a while. Just make sure they're cleaned well, and have enough ventilation.

How do I clean them?? That s my biggest question. I don't really wanna use soap or anything like that. Would rinsing them in scalding hot water disinfect them?

I think using a mild soap is okay, so long as you THOROUGHLY rinse them, and make sure they're completely dried before using. I don't see a problem with just scalding water though. I'm not an expert though, so hopefully some of the others will chime in...

I would use a mild dish detergent and hot water. You want to eliminate any possibilty of unseen food remaining, as this will attract molds and bacteria.

Think of it as your dishes... after you eat, you wash them to get any remaining food off.

I also use dish soap and hot water to clean everything from sling vials to large enclosures and never had sick T. As long as you rinse them thoroughly I wouldn't worry about it.
